Abstract
Local implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a major challenge for municipalities. But how can urban policy and administration be supported so that urban sustainability transformations succeed? A dialogue process between science and practice, organized by the German Committee for Sustainability Research in Future Earth, has shown that local politics and administration and science should cooperate more closely. In order to stimulate and consolidate the transfer of knowledge, further funding programs should be launched.
