Circle U. Climate Day at the University of Vienna, June 5th 2025
“Participatory Climate Justice – Vienna as the Capital of Democracy in the Year of 2025”
The Circle U. Climate Day is an initiative of the Circle U. Knowledge Hub on Climate and will be held for the first time on June 5, 2025 and will take place simultaneously at all nine partner universities of the Circle U. Alliance at the same time. At the University of Vienna, this day is being held under the motto “Participatory climate justice – Vienna as a democracy capital 2025“. The aim is to pool the knowledge created in various contexts (research, teaching, co-creation with children) for a broad audience in order to address issues of climate change and climate justice and jointly develop perspectives for the future in the year in which Vienna is the European Democracy Capital.
The Circle U. Climate Day at the University of Vienna invites you to stroll through a Marketplace of Initiatives in the Main Ceremonial Hall and to get into conversation about projects and initiatives presented. In the Small Ceremonial Hall adolescents of the co-creative climate education project by DOCK for Change will present their vision of the future and introduce a program of interactive workshops and short lectures. A panel discussion on the topic will deal with questions of participatory climate justice in the city of Vienna, whereas additional activities invite you to participate.
